He Leads Me

Psalm 23:2,3

"He makes me lie down in green pastures,

He leads me beside quiet waters, He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. he refreshes my soul"

Our good shepherd knows exactly what we need. The translation for the words “green pastures” are “pastures of tender grass.” These are the tender, early shoots of grasses which bring the essential nourishment to the sheep. The shepherd causes the sheep to dwell in those places that are most beneficial.

“He leads me beside quiet waters.” Such a beautiful picture painted by David with as these words.  Such a place a calm and peacefulness. Just as the “quiet waters” speak to the mental and emotional well being of the sheep, so it is us as we are led by the spirit of God. There is an otherwise unexplained peace and calmness that comes from spending time walking along the with God.

“He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. he refreshes my soul”

All for his glory. Every path he leads us along, every place he causes us to lay down for the refreshment of our souls, It’s all to his glory. We are truly a reflection of his goodness and kindness. In this, we are simply a life of worship towards him.

We truly have have good shepherd who cares for our physical, emotional well being. All to his glory!
